Sociopathy and the NYPD

1.  Flaking:  Planting narcotics on law abiding citizens to improve arrest record.

NYPD “Cowboy Culture”: Narcotics Detective Guilty Of Planting Drugs

The Brooklyn South narcotics detective accused of planting drugs on a woman and her boyfriend was convicted yesterday. Jason Arbeeny, a 14-year NYPD veteran, was guilty of eight counts of falsifying records and official misconduct for planting drugs on innocent suspects in order to reach quotas. And the judge in the case scolded the narcotics department for their “cowboy culture” and widespread corruption: “Having been a judge for 20 years, I thought I was not naïve regarding the reality of narcotics enforcement. But even the Court was shocked, not only by the seeming pervasive scope of the misconduct, but even more distressingly by the seeming casualness by which such conduct is employed,” said Supreme Court Justice Gustin Reichbach before handing out his verdict.  http://gothamist.com/2011/11/02/nypd_narcotics_detective_found_guil.php

I am not saying that all the officers involved are sociopathic, but I am arguing that the presence of a sociopathic ‘bad seed’ greatly influences such crimes.  The presence of sociopathic police officers plays a huge role in further corrupting those inclined to be corrupt.  To sociopathic police officers and/or prosecutors guilt and innocence are of no concern, their only concern would be their own interest.

2.  NYPD entrapment of Occupy Wall Street on the Brooklyn Bridge.

NYC White Shirt Police Commanders Entrap Occupy Wall Street; Arrest 500, or is it 700

I have now heard from several people who were in the protest and they all say they were led onto the Brooklyn Bridge roadway by the police. The protesters were walking on the pedestrian passageway that crosses the bridge. They were led onto the roadway by the police. About a third of the way across the bridge the police trapped them with plastic orange netting. Those arrested were held in plastic cuffs for hours, then brought to various jails and released in the early morning hours. This video shows the police quite clearly leading the Occupiers onto the roadway.  http://october2011.org/blogs/kevin-zeese/nyc-white-shirt-police-commanders-entrap-occupy-wall-street-arrest-500-join-occupy

Personally I’m convinced that it was entrapment.  I am not going to entertain the counter argument.  Readers can make up their mind.  For more info:

Rule of Law vs. the Forces of Order

Whenever you hear, in your mind’s ear, that ‘chortle, chortle’ response, suspect sociopathy.  The brain trust for the NYPD that came up with the Brooklyn Bridge arrest plan (leading them onto the bridge, kettling them and then arresting them) should be fired or at a minimum the members evaluated for sociopathy.

Sociopaths live in a very simple world:  power, powerlessness; high up on the foodchain, low on the foodchain.  It would make sense to a sociopath that this arrest technique would smash the will of the protesters, it would have smashed their will.  For sociopaths there is no ‘butt they won’t kiss’, they would always make the live-on-their-knees rather than the dying-on-their feet choice — they have no pride, shame or honor (due to their state of childish arrested development).  They cannot understand those who say ‘this mountain I will not climb,’ ‘this line I will not cross.’  Apparently the elite expected/expects the American middle class to crawl away and die.  This will not happen.

3.  NYPD officers fixing records (cases?).

The recent scandal of parking ticket fixing (which must have gotten out of hand to be brought into court) makes me wonder how high this goes.  Do the white shirts get away with outright criminal schemes?  It seems sometimes that the NYPD white shirts are criminal princes of the city.  I have heard of relatives of white shirts getting DUI arrests dropped (some even that involved fatalities).

A court case I visited (and a post I never made, I didn’t become interested in time) concerned the accused Darryl Littlejohn in the Imette St. Guilen murder.  From what I heard in court, it seems quite possible that he was either guilty and framed to put away a really bad guy, or innocent and framed to protect relatives of NYPD brass.  No DNA evidence showed up (by admission of the lab) until a NYPD relative volunteered to come in on his own time (and unsupervised, as I recall) to prepare the samples to be tested.  These samples were then tested by supervisor ‘K’, who had sat in, much earlier, on meetings with the prosecutor and NYPD brass (including the relative of another ‘person of interest’, the bar owner) regarding the importance of proving Mr. Littlejohn’s guilt (improper behavior for a neutral lab, to put it mildly).  Prior tests of prior samples by other members of the lab had found nothing.  She found nothing odd in then finding multiple positive DNA matches.

I was very suspicious of sociopathy involvement in the case.  The witnesses, the jurors, the prosecutor and the judge should always be screened for sociopathy in all cases.

4.  The incidences of innocent victims being shot multiple times.

http://gothamist.com/2008/03/25/31shot_cop_i_di.php

The problem isn’t simply the primary shooter, but the sociopathic officer’s ability to instill a gang mentality (instantly) and draw others into his action.

5.  On a personal level, the worst case of possible sociopathy in the NYPD I personally heard of, concerned officers and a couple I knew in Queens.  She had become romantically involved with an officer called in to handle a domestic complaint against her husband.  The claim (which I came to believe) was, that over time, the cops beat him up, stole his car, entered his premises at will, harassed him, etc.  Among many problems is that the only location to make a complaint against an officer or seek police investigative help is the officer(s)’ own precinct — a non-starter.   A DA wouldn’t want to hear the case without indisputable evidence, but how could the husband get that evidence without police powers?  If he resorted to private investigators he risked opening himself up to stalking charges.  There needs to be an outside office charged with the responsibility to investigate complaints against NYPD members, it can not be (and is not) self-policing.  In my experience, sociopathic police officers think they have landed in clover, to put it mildly.

“Criminal Minds — Will testing the brain, even before birth, separate the good seeds from the bad?”

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , , , on November 29, 2011 by pathwhisperer

More Adrian Raine.

. . . a series of studies using magnetic resonance imaging, which reveals structures and shapes, showed that criminals and people who scored high on tests of antisocial disorders had a smaller than normal orbitofrontal region and amygdala. And the corpus callosum, the communications bridge between the brain’s two hemispheres, was abnormally large.

. . . [Adrian Raine] needed to go back even further and look for a defect that begins before birth and can still be detected in adults. Raine found it in a hole in the head. More precisely, a thin wall of brain tissue that separates a hole—all brains have these spaces—into two. The hole appears during the 12th week of a fetus’s development, and the wall—pushed forward by a normally developing amygdala and other brain areas—divides it by the 20th week. When the wall doesn’t form completely, a condition known by the jawbreaking name of cavum septum pellucidum, it’s usually a sign of abnormal development in the amygdala and other structures. Years later, in adults, the failed wall can be spotted in a brain scan.

In a 2010 paper, Raine and his colleagues compared people with and without the feature on several fronts. The groups were tested for antisocial personality disorder, psychopathy, and aggression. Their records were searched for criminal arrests and convictions. In every single one of those areas, there were a lot more men and women with the wall defect. Here, finally, was evidence tracing criminality back to the womb, before any head-banging could occur.

“I think there’s no longer any question, scientifically, that there’s an association between the brain and criminal behavior. We’re beyond the point of debating that,” says Raine. “Every study can be criticized on methodology. But when you look at the whole, at all the different designs, it’s just hard to deny there is something going on with biology.”

“It [sociopathy] is human biodiversity like homosexuality”

Exactly.  The above quote is from commenter faintsmile1992.

Some people are born with Devonian polydactyly or a tapeta lucida, others are born with empathy deficits and it does not make us monsters,it is human biodiversity like homosexualityhttp://pathwhisperer.wordpress.com/2010/01/25/the-psychopathic-personality-and-human-evolution-and-why-cant-women-recognize-psychopaths/#comment-65086

She also wrote,

And of course we (I am diagnosed Dissocial) do not want to ‘go the way of Downs Syndrome babies’. Would you like to see people with empathy go extinct? Most vertebrates lack empathy, we’d do just fine without you.http://pathwhisperer.wordpress.com/2011/02/23/pws-1st-subterranean-sociopathy-problem-of-vast-social-impact-sociopaths-as-a-pillar-of-the-anti-abortion-movement/#comment-65082

I believe every reader of this currently knows individuals who are sociopathic.  Most would have one or two in their extended families (out to the first cousin level).  This would support a percentage of a 5% sociopathic population (1 in 20, though much higher among stock traders).  People just don’t realize that this kind of human diversity exists.

“‘Rude, unprofessional, dishonest and cruel’: Bachmann’s New Hampshire team ‘treated as second class citizens’ before they quit”

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , on October 26, 2011 by pathwhisperer

Michele Bachmann’s New Hampshire campaign team say they were ignored and treated as second-class citizens [by Bachmann's national staff] before they quit in frustration last week.

Just what you would expect from a group of sociopaths, with no (or few) normals present.  In their world there is only the dominance food chain.  Civility is to fool fools — there is no need for this con (as they see it) among themselves.  Dishonesty is the water they swim in.  There’s only arrogance and putdowns.  Arrogance and rudeness when the spotlight is off is one of the great clues to closeted sociopathy.

“Toxic” officers/Israeli hit man asks for PTSD treatment

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 12, 2011 by pathwhisperer

Changes necessary to find, remove bad leaders

The Army has a serious problem with toxic leaders. A new survey shows that soldiers rate 18 percent of their leaders as “bullies … tyrants … jerks” more interested in their own advancement than the welfare of the troops. A distinguished retired three-star, Lt. Gen. Walter Ulmer, estimated that roughly 8 percent to 12 percent of Army officers at the rank of colonel and higher “are so toxic that they need to be removed from command.”

That’s quite an indictment.

This problem, like so many others, is a byproduct of a decade of war that saw the force dedicated to developing combat skills, often at the expense of broader leadership abilities.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey [ . . .] wants leaders who earn the respect of subordinates and peers alike, rather than martinets and incompetents who hold authority only because they outrank everyone around them.

Such twisted chain of command is driving good troops out of the Army. So bad leaders not only are demoralizing, they are expensive.

http://www.armytimes.com/community/opinion/army-editorial-changes-necessary-to-find-remove-bad-leaders-080111w/

The word isn’t toxic, it’s sociopathic.  Give all officer candidates brain scans for possible sociopathy.  I understand that the military makes a big effort to weed out sociopaths from the enlisted ranks, as they should (though some slip by:  Steven Green who was discharged from the military “due to antisocial personality disorder but before the military was aware of the incident” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmudiyah_killings)).  They also need to take great care with their officers.

I am not saying that the majority of these “toxic” officers would be or have to be sociopathic.  That is not necessary for sociopaths to do the harm they do, though the sociopathic percentage would be much higher than in the general population.  My argument is that corruption, evil and the causes of human misery cannot be understood without taking sociopaths into account. Sociopathic mal-doers license, enable the non sociopathic corrupt and humiliated to emulate them.  They are the sharp end of the stick in war crimes and bullying.

For the record I’d like to state that while I am antiwar,  I am not anti-military.  Thus while I would not allow military recruiters in public high schools beyond posters and occasional presentations, I would require all colleges that accept federal money to have ROTC programs.  We want the officer class to reflect population in its diversity.  To the voices from my Quaker pacifist past that ask wouldn’t you like a world with no need of militaries, I say, of course I would, and I’m sure it will happen exactly the same moment that water starts flowing uphill right before it turns into wine.  If you want responsible, moral military leaders, such as those above, you cannot say to the officers corp don’t live in my neighborhood, don’t marry my daughters and expect an officer corp loyal to the people.

Israeli undercover agents boast of killing Palestinians on TV

Undercover Israeli intelligence officers appeared on national television Saturday to talk about assassinating Palestinians in a program broadcast on Israel’s Channel 10.

Oren Beaton presented a photo album of Palestinians he killed during his time as a commander of an undercover Israeli unit operating in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Beaton explained that he kept photos of his victims.

“This is a photo of a Palestinian young man called Basim Subeih who I killed. This is another young man. I shredded his body, and the photo shows the remnants of his body,” he said.

The TV program also featured an undercover agent referred to as “D”, who openly admitted killing “wanted Palestinians.”

He complained of suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and said that the state had rejected his demands for compensation.

NEWSFLASH TO THE UNIVERSAL SOLDIER:  YOU ARE NOT BOUND BY ORDERS FROM SOCIOPATHIC OFFICERS.  Its simple natural law, how can the soulless give orders to the souled?  Some might ask what that would do for military discipline — but that’s the wrong question.

continuing,

The agents, who speak fluent Arabic, are shown surrounded by masked Palestinian collaborators secretly deployed to the area to protect them.

The program provided previously unconfirmed details about the operational methods of undercover agents.

The report explained that officers conducted surveillance before an assassination, investigating the target’s friends and classmates.

Agents would even ask about the target’s favorite meals and habits at home, the report said.

In this way, agents would put together an image of the target’s behavior and routine.

Agent “D” said officers would then “seize the target and wait until the commander arrives to confirm his identity. Then we shoot him.”

http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=397902

So how do they pick these enemies of Israel?  Are there dossiers of their actions against Israel or of their detailed realistic plans for harm?  Or are they merely guilty of having intelligence, spirit and/or leadership qualities?  Is it left up to the judgement of PTSD denying/damaged commanders?  Is it left up to the judgement of commanders who had gone insane while killing women and children in Gaza all the while screaming NEVER AGAIN!?  Israel claims the right to kill their enemies anywhere in the world.  How do they select these targets?

I’m afraid that Agent “D” has the wrong idea of treatment for PTSD.  It can not come from an outside medical intervention such as treatment for hemorrhoids or bacterial infection.  His only route is a deeply personal journey to the depths of choice, responsibility, guilt, and sin.  And what would motivate this journey?  His own misery — which should not be diminished by psychiatric drugs.

However, if a PTSD sufferer is in such straits that he (or she) is afraid to drive across bridges because he may slam on the brakes and jump off the bridge, no matter who is in the car, then he (and his caregiver) has a decision to make of whether to take psychiatric pharmaceuticals of not.  But basically, as far as I’m concerned, what psychiatric drugs do is to give time for “scar tissue of the soul” to form resulting in a lessened, less empathic person — which is not the aim.

The guilt ridden PTSD sufferer (PTSD is not the same as shell shock, but connected to the illegal, immoral wars since and including the Vietnam War and what that does to the war fighters) needs to make a journey of discovery to the truth.  The past is not going to change, his superiors are not going to change, the change will be in him.  He needs to mourn for failure, where he failed, to mourn for weakness, where he was weak, for impotence, where he was impotent (to affect events).  This last also explains the PTSD of reporters and onsite diplomats.  Those who witness crimes are also crime victims having been exposed to the betrayal of humanness, of the promise of humanity.

The PTSD sufferer will never go back to his previous life, that world is gone, but he will again be able to stride forward into the future with confidence and anticipation.  The sad, troubling memories will indeed visit him for time to time but will no longer own him or keep him in thrall.

Does he need a therapist or “treatment” (which is totally the wrong word)?  Yes and no.  A “soul witness” therapist, who understands the task is to witness the PTSD sufferer’s own journey, would be very helpful.  But a therapist who has no idea what that is would be worthless, actually worse than worthless.

“THE SOCIOBIOLOGY OF SOCIOPATHY: AN INTEGRATED EVOLUTIONARY MODEL” – Linda Mealey

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , , , , , on August 7, 2011 by pathwhisperer

I read this quite a few years ago, recently looked it up again (http://generallythinking.com/research/mealey-1995-the-sociobiology-of-sociopathy/).

Sociopaths are “outstanding” members of society in two senses: politically, they command attention because of the inordinate amount of crime they commit, and psychologically, they elicit fascination because most of us cannot fathom the cold, detached way they repeatedly harm and manipulate others. Proximate explanations from behavior genetics, child development, personality theory, learning theory, and social psychology describe a complex interaction of genetic and physiological risk factors with demographic and micro-environmental variables that predispose a portion of the population to chronic antisocial behavior.

. . .

My basic premise is that sociopaths are designed for the successful execution of social deception and that they are the product of evolutionary pressures which, through a complex interaction of environmental and genetic factors, lead some individuals to pursue a life history strategy of manipulative and predatory social interactions. On the basis of game theoretic models this strategy is to be expected in the population at relatively low frequencies in a demographic pattern consistent with what we see in contemporary societies. It is also expected to appear preferentially under certain social, environmental, and developmental circumstances which I hope to delineate.

. . .

2.1.3  Sex differences and the “two-threshold” model Cloninger put forth a “two threshold” polygenic model to account for both the sex difference in sociopathy and its spectral nature (Cloninger, Reich & Guze 1975; Cloninger, Christiansen, Reich & Gottesman 1978). According to the model, sociopaths are individuals on the extreme end of a normal distribution whose genetic component is (1) polygenic and (2) to a large degree, sexlimited.  [Sex- limited genes, not to be confused with sex-linked genes, are those which are located on the autosomes of both sexes but which are triggered into expression only within the chemical/ hormonal microenvironment of one sex or the other. Common examples include beard and mustache growth in men, and breast and hip development in women.] If a large number of the many genes underlying sociopathy are triggered by testosterone or some other androgen, many more men than women will pass the threshold of the required number of active genes necessary for its outward expression.  According to the two-threshold model, those females who do express the trait must have a greater overall “dose” or “genetic load” (i.e, they are further out in the extreme of the normal distribution of genotypes) than most of the males who express the trait. This proposition has been supported by data showing that in addition to the greater overall risk for males as opposed to females, there is a also greater risk for the offspring (and other relatives) of female sociopaths as compared to the offspring (and other relatives) of male sociopaths. This phenomenon cannot be accounted for either by sex-linkage or by the differential experiences of the sexes.  Besides providing a proximate explanation for the greater incidence of male sociopathy and crime, the two-threshold model also explains on a proximate level the finding that males are more susceptible to environmental influences than females. Somewhat paradoxically, while a male will express sociopathy at a lower “genetic dose” than is required for expression in a female, the heritability of the trait is greater for females, meaning that the environmental component of the variance is greater for males (8).  The two-threshold model thus explains in a proximate sense what sociobiologists would predict from a more ultimate perspective. The fact that males are more susceptible than females to the environmental conditions of their early years fits well with sociobiological theory, in that the greater variance in male reproductive capacity makes their “choice” of life strategy somewhat more risky and therefore more subject to selective pressures (Symons 1979, Buss 1988, Mealey & Segal 1993). Sociobiological reasoning thus leads to the postulate that males should be more sensitive to environmental cues that (1) trigger environmentally-contingent or developmentally-canalized life history strategies or (2) are stimuli for which genetically based individual differences in response thresholds have evolved. (Recall mechanisms 3, 4 & 5 for the maintenance of mixed-strategy ESSs in a population.)

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/archivos_pdf/sociobiology%C2%AD_of_sociopathy.pdf

So that’s why female sociopaths tend to be so spectacular — that full genetic dosage, for example, Stacy Castor (http://pathwhisperer.wordpress.com/2011/03/21/ah-those-spectacular-female-psychopaths-stacey-castor-the-black-widow/).  I recall a documentary on one woman who convinced her new husband that she had cancer, disappeared for a while, came back and told her husband that his wife had died and that she was her own twin sister, took up a conjugal living arrangement with her own husband, the neighbors weren’t fooled however and called the authorities, who discovered she had murdered her earlier family (a quick search did not find this, but I believe it was from a Kurtis Productions documentary (American Justice or Justice Files) — they have an excellent series of documentaries on sociopathy).  Imagine the nerve of that female Lehman Brothers HR SVP canceling my freelance assignment for giving friends some eight pages on how to recognize sociopaths, never imagining she would/could be recognized.

Transsociopathica always said that the sociopathic women he knew were all high in testosterone.  It turns out that’s true. (I just tried to find http://transsociopathica.blogspot.com in the Wayback Machine (http://wayback.archive.org) but it doesn’t show up.  ???  They don’t save blogs?  Anybody know?)

Search: are narcissists attracted to sociopaths?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , on June 5, 2011 by pathwhisperer

Absolutely.

All narcissists are delusional.  They have a delusional view of themselves and a pathological self involvement.  Sociopaths will mirror this delusion (manipulating the emotionally mentally ill is one of their highest skills) and they will make the narcissist feel the self involvement is normal.

Narcissism is actually a confusing term, there are at least three pathological types that I know of:  garden variety, malignant and rigid.  Rigid is the one I am most familiar with — the narcissism of Scott Peck’s People of the Lie, aka, the perfect, the mentally ill evil.  They have zero consideration for anyone else, their whole psychic universe is organized around protecting their perfectness.  This is why they give up the lived life, they gain total perfection.

The rest of us go through life with daggers of defeats, failures and regrets attached to our backs that tweak us now and then, because we have consciences.  Narcissists know none of this, never having made a mistake in their lives, leading a life absolutely without error (as long as they can maintain the fiction).  But the maintenance of this false world is exhausting, turning to sociopaths for enabling must be such a relief.

They are so lacking in empathy that they are often mistaken for sociopaths themselves, I term them one of the faux sociopathic states.  Joining with a sociopath mirrors their vast selfishness and disregard of others.  They often pair off with sociopaths to form an evil couple.

Furthermore, there is a phenomenon known as narcissistic catastrophe (at least for the malignant and rigid types).  The catastrophe occurs when the edifice of the false self is overwhelmed by reality, when the betrayal of their own soul is overwhelmed by their own soul needs.  At that point they are lost at sea, unable to recognize friend from foe, in personality meltdown, they probably feel they don’t even know themselves — permanent psychotic dissociation is an extreme danger.

At this point they need protection both from themselves and from sociopaths (for whom they are now like an artist’s palette).  I actually knew a rigidly narcissistic therapist to throw such a client to sociopathic manipulators.  Narcissism is that evil, almost like a personality virus that won’t allow anyone under their influence (even their own child or client) to escape narcissism to live a lived life, a soul life.

Sociopathic prosecutor urges “false flag” attack on Scott Walker

Posted in General with tags , , , , , on April 26, 2011 by pathwhisperer

These were his own words.

From the March 24, WisconsinWatch, http://www.wisconsinwatch.org/2011/03/24/email-to-walker-suggested-faking-attack-on-governor/:

“Carlos F. Lam submitted his resignation shortly before the Center published a story quoting his Feb. 19 email, which praised Walker for standing up to unions but went on to say that the chaos in Wisconsin presented “a good opportunity for what’s called a ‘false flag’ operation.”

“If you could employ an associate who pretends to be sympathetic to the unions’ cause to physically attack you (or even use a firearm against you), you could discredit the unions,” the email said.

“Currently, the media is painting the union protest as a democratic uprising and failing to mention the role of the DNC and umbrella union organizations in the protest. Employing a false flag operation would assist in undercutting any support that the media may be creating in favor of the unions.”

Signed:

“God bless, Carlos F. Lam.”

Well at least he’s a good Christian.

Or not, the Ninth Commandment:  “Bear No False Witness”.  Maybe he really is a sociopath, words are only used to fool fools (in their world view) and they live by a code of hypocrisy.

All prosecutors should be brain scanned for sociopathic brain structures with the sociopaths being filtered out.

Can we say that arrested development in appearance (an age inappropriate physical appearance) is a sign of the arrested development of a sociopath?  I don’t know.  I’m not even saying it be considered a flag, but I would recommend paying attention to such looks.

PW’s 1st subterranean societal problem of vast proportion involving sociopaths — sociopaths as a pillar of the anti-abortion movement

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , , on February 23, 2011 by pathwhisperer

I was going to name this Justifiable homicide — you sure this is a game you wanna play, Phil?, but the South Dakota bill was withdrawn (South Dakota Moves To Legalize Killing Abortion Providers, Murder of Abortion Docs as Justifiable Homicide).  I guess my rep preceded me, it seems he was intimidated by my street cred.  Now I don’t know if Rep. Phil Jensen is a sociopath/decepticon or not, but I have no doubt the bill has deep sociopathic support.  And I have a test.

Let’s talk justifiable homicide.  Or, let’s talk leaving that up to juries, juries sociopath-free due to brain scans.  So if someone kills a harassing sociopathic ex, stalker, bully or puppet master manipulator and can convince a jury of the reasonableness of that action, that person goes free.  It’s not a license to kill, like the S.D. bill, but some would no doubt chose to throw themselves on the mercy of a jury.

Or let’s talk mandated harsher sentences for sociopaths, say, death sentences for sociopathic murderers, rapists and child molesters, and longer sentences for all felonies carried out by sociopaths.

Hey Phil, how do you like them apples? My advice in any altercation with a sociopath, allow no free hits.  Anyway, the test is, would  my suggestions if widely known force them to back off?

There’s a very deep bond between sociopaths that I have witnessed but that I don’t understand.  I have come to believe that many anti-abortionists are in fact sociopathic and are terrified at the thought of going the way of Down Syndrome babies.  They certainly don’t need science to tell them they are the way nature intended, they know that already.

The Tucson tragedy — reopen the mental hospitals, require candidates to submit brain scans

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 2, 2011 by pathwhisperer

Gerald Loughner obviously belonged in a mental hospital as a dangerous psychotic.  This post however will focus on the hate mongers and the destabilizing effort to destroy the American economy by our own elite (which is destabilizing psychologically, emotionally and economically).  It is my strong belief that the public should insist that those running for office submit brain scans to prove they are not sociopathic.  “Journalists” of course don’t have to.

Paradoxically, one of the reasons for the incivility of the Tea Party/Fox News (otherwise known as the Republican propaganda channel that went to court to establish its right to lie) is too much civility on our part.  Sociopaths and the corrupt have taken advantage of our good nature.

Where we should have/should still draw[n] the line against sociopathy/sociopathic modality:

  • No, pathologically lying sociopath Ronald Reagan (i.e., a sufferer of pseudologia fantastica syndrome) is not fit for the presidency.  I am aware that he has his sincere admirers.  However there is no shame in being conned, but there is in not waking up.  His con was to present a folksy front for the destruction of the American way of life — the average person being middle class.  A garbage picker class was created specifically as economic terrorism, to terrorize Americans into working more hours for less pay.
  • No, we will not accept NAFTA which cratered American manufacturing and destroyed Mexican farmers (by the millions).  There is no need to repeal NAFTA, the president could simply declare it null and void.  Its passage was absolutely unconstitutional, it never received the two thirds vote treaties require.  Through sociopathic lawyerese it was simply termed an agreement, requiring only a majority vote.
  • No, Clinton, China will not be given most favored nation status. Through this and other means globalism was foisted on the world, before the U.S. and world realized what was happening, let alone voting on it.  China was to be the factory of the world and Americans the consumers of the world (hello . . . how can we be consumers without jobs?  ‘Government is the problem, markets are natural geniuses’ — Greenspan (or something like that).)
  • No, there is no such thing as a service economy, where I work at McDonald’s and you work at Walmarts, there is no such thing as a FIRE economy (finance, insurance, real estate), and today, in a growing number of places, there is no such thing as garage sale or thrift shop economyAn economy requires that value be created.
  • No, Wall Street, we will tell you what “financial products” (hah) you can sell.  Do they further the interest of the greater economy?  And, by the way, Glass-Steagall will stay.
  • No, Greenspan and Bernanke, you will not allow runaway economic bubbles. To those to say, ‘Well gee, how do we know when we’re in a bubble” (and many of them have Ph.D.s), I say ‘Shut up and grow up’.
  • No, Wall Street, there is no such thing as riskless capitalisim -- selling worthless mortgages, distributing the risk through bundling (mortgage backed securities).  And then conning the world to buy them (and derivatives).  Capitalism 101:  those going for the profit, take the risk. Tell that to bankers.  Mortgage originators faced almost no risk.
  • No, Bush, Obama, Geithner, Bernanke, Paulson, too big to fail means just that.  Going forward banks (and other companies) will no longer be so large that their failure would damage the entire economy. Instead, the exact opposite has happened, Wall Streets firms have become even bigger and more concentrated.  But don’t worry, Obama will retire from  the presidency wealthy just like Clinton (whose foundation is worth hundreds of millions).  Become president of the United States and become rich.  (To support these economic points please see Financial crisis of 2008 avoidable, says US inquiry.)
  • No, you will not carry firearms to political rallies and town hall meetings. This is despite the fact that the entire Bill of Rights consists of restraints on government power and the recognition of individual (not collective) rights.  There are still common sense, comparable to no shouting fire falsely in crowded theaters, restrictions.  Threatening deadly force (in the absence of imminent danger) is a crime.
  • No, Tea Party candidates and Fox hate-spewing-mouths, you will not incite violence. I don’t know where the line is, between free speech and the first amendment but it seems to me that Sharron Angle’s “second amendment remedies” is very close to inciting violence and the equivalent of needlessly shouting fire in a crowded theater (which is legally actionable).  But as individuals, we are certainly free to respond verbally how we wish, regardless of any possible criminality.
  • Michele Bachmann, you are insane.  Glenn Beck, with his bizarre diagrams and his fake crying jags, seems insane also, but it’s not on the public dime.

These are very dangerous times.  Whenever there is a crime and tragedy, such as the the one Loughner carried out, it is important to ask exactly where the pathology lays — in the action, or in both the action and the motivation (i.e., was it the pathological expression of a common or understandable stress or the expression of an internal psychotic stress). In Loughner’s case it seems both are true, both his action and motivation were pathological (psychotic) but at the same time based on shared societal stressors.

Reopening the mental hospitals would do multiple things.  Paranoid schizophrenics would be taken care of , and the public protected.  “Over the edge” sociopaths would also be confined.  Sociopaths respond only to outside constraints.  I can’t prove this, but it is my firm belief that the very existence of mental hospitals was and could again be a great restraining factor regarding sociopaths.

The hospitals were closed through the confluence of the extreme end of Republicanism, the sociopathic greed and selfishness of the ‘whatever is for me is the good, and screw everybody else’ philosophy, and the narcissistic end of the Democratic party, ‘Lincoln freed the slaves, we’ll free the mental patients.’ The conservatives wanted to save money and the liberals pushed the model of community based treatment (that didn’t exist when mental patients started being dropped off at street corners).  After the recent tragedy, Tucson’s Sheriff Clarence Dupnik stated that the best mental health facility in the area is his county jail.  I think it’s clear which side won, the side anchored in sociopathic greed and selfishness, liberal narcissists once again played the part of useful fools.  But still too many liberals can’t see this, too many can’t see the mentally ill as being exploited prey on the streets, being too busy admiring their goodness in the mirror.

But back to politicians, Ronald Reagan seems to have opened the door to the weirdosIs Michele Bachmann a pseudologue?  Does she know that reality actually really is real?  She doesn’t seem to. See Founding fathers ‘worked tirelessly’ to end slavery, or PolitiFact’s Truth-o-meter, All statements involving Michele Bachmann, though I see she’s come up to “Half True” finally.

Chris Mathews has asked her, and other Tea Party leaders (such as Sal Russo) if they’re acting under hypnosis for their behavior during interviews.  They seem to just nod and smile and then, to any question, simply repeat the point they have to say.  It’s almost as though, on their home planet, Zatar, they had a conference on how to communicate with Earthlings and came up with this plan.  Oh, oh — to newbies, bizarre sociopathic groupthink is one of my suggested flags of possible sociopathy.  Sociopaths are permanent children, strangers in a strange land — they are always trying to figure out the behavior of the adult normal world.  In an echo chamber of a sociopaths only coffee klatch (I was going to say clown car but . . .) they can come up with some really bizarre ideas and interpretations.   For one of the interviews, see YouTube – Chris Matthews Rips Tea Party Express Co-Founder Sal Russo!.

A problem with attacking a movement’s leaders is that their followers usually feel they are attacked also.  This needs to be prevented.  Tea Party citizens are certainly fearful and anxious, as are probably most Americans.  The reasons for this are logical and understandable.  The America we have known is being destroyed in front of our eyes, as we are being reduced economically to third world conditions. Above I have expressed my own interpretation of recent history.

In closing let me urge again that all those running for public office be asked to submit brain scans proving they are not sociopathic, starting with those with runaway-bride eyes.  See Adrian Raine’s work: Abnormal Brain Region Characterizes Those With Psychopathy, Habitual Liar Brains Look Different On Scans.

It turns out I’m echoing Futurepundit on the brainscans (from link immediately above):

“Modest proposal:  Require politicians running for office to get brain scans and publish their gray matter to white matter ratio. If the public really wants more honest politicians (and I’m not entirely convinced that is the case) then the public could vote for candidates that have higher gray to white matter. Also, politicians should have to include any indications that they have brains shaped for psychopathy.”
